Han Tak Lee: Pennsylvania; Revolution in the science of fire investigation used to illustrate the need to compensate people wrongly kept behind bars, according to The Innocence Project. The Morning Call;

STORY: "State gives no money to people wrongly convicted," by reporter Peter Hall. published by the Morning Call on October 4, 2014.

GIST: "In August, 79-year-old Han Tak Lee walked out of Houtzdale state prison in Clearfield County for the first time in nearly a quarter-century after a federal judge threw out his conviction and life sentence for murdering his daughter in a Monroe County fire. Like Yarris more than a decade earlier, Lee emerged to a world where his life before prison was gone. His Queens, N.Y., clothing store was long shuttered and his elderly wife too ill to care for him, his attorney said after his release. Only through the support of the Korean-American community in New York City, which had arranged an apartment and medical care, did Lee get a place to stay while he awaits a decision from prosecutors whether they will retry him.".........With a rising wave of convictions overturned by DNA evidence, as in Yarris' case, and by a revolution in the science of fire investigation, as in Lee's case, the need to compensate people wrongly kept behind bars is growing, according to The Innocence Project, an organization that works to free people wrongly convicted."
